Cinema as a Critical Educational Resource Part 1 and 2

Cinema as a Critical Educational Resource is a leading Research Category at T.R.I.S. This is amply visible in its online knowledge base tuliresearchcentre.org

To ensure that the HFF is not merely a viewing opportunity, but a learning experience that widens the knowledge-base of every cinephile, this year’s HFF will also feature an extended masterclass by Neville Tuli, Founder and President, Tuli Research Centre for India Studies, on cinema as a critical educational resource. The workshops will be especially interesting for students, academics and faculty members who are primarily interested in using the world of cinema to integrate across all other subjects with an in-depth and relatively unique transdisciplinary pedagogic approach to learning.

Short Films

In addition as always HFF is a platform for documentary and short films. A range of languages and content find place in the selection from the submissions for the Festival. Returning after its successful and enthusiastic reception last year is the Best of Critics Choice Awards 2025, curated by the Film Critics Guild. Yet another package that is a must for cinephiles is the curated package of non fiction films by PSBT.

Documentaries

Documentaries at HFF cover a wide array of poignant stories, lending the cinematic platform to real people, events and stories. Do not miss a documentary package in collaboration with Rough Edges, featuring Umbro, which has won innumerable accolades across festivals, or B25 which touchingly documents queer realities. Audiences will also have the unique opportunity to interact with select documentary-makers who will be present for the screenings.
