22nd Ishara International Puppet Theatre Festival. Dreamloom (India/ Non Verbal, Musical/ 50 mins) Dir. Anurupa Roy. Performed by MTA 2nd Year, School of Drama & Fine Art, Thrissur. This unique performance redefines puppetry by transforming discarded ordinary materials into living & breathing things. Crafted from newspapers, bottles & fabric, puppeteers construct surreal dreamscapes populated by colourful creatures both familiar & strange. Through the dream of one man, humanity’s journey unfolds: from early struggles to the rising of ordinary voices against power. The dream resists oppression & finally opens toward hope. Through movement & its evocative images, this show reminds us that beauty can emerge from anything, offering audiences a thought provoking exploration of what it is to be alive. Ticketed show.
