22nd Ishara International Puppet Theatre Festival. Jack and The Beanstalk (India/ Hindustani/ 50 mins) Dir. Manish Ram Sachdeva. Performed by Puppet Studio. A classic fairy tale gets a fun Indian twist in this musical puppet play about family, imagination, and magic. The story begins when little Mithoo loses her ball and asks her Dadaji for help. He tells her a story from his childhood—about Jack, his cow Gauri, and magical beans that grow into a giant beanstalk. Jack climbs the beanstalk to a sky world, where he meets a golden-egg-laying hen guarded by the silly magician Shakura. With courage and cleverness, Jack brings the hen back and discovers it once belonged to his family. Filled with songs, humour, and colourful puppets, the play shows how stories connect generations and keep memories alive. Ticketed show.
