6th Mujeeb Rizvi Memorial Lecture. Cinemai Adab: Zabanon ke Aar-Paar by Ravikant, historian, translator, archivist, author, Professor, CSDS. In its anxiety to carve out an independent status for films, both filmmakers and film scholars have tried to distance cinema from literature, even though the evidence points towards a deep connection between the two. The presentation will look afresh at films made on fictional adaptations and literary biographies to arrive at an understanding about the cinematic flow across literary languages and cultures.
