A powerful Kathak production exploring the lives and inner worlds of the five Panchkanyas—Ahalya, Draupadi, Kunti, Tara and Mandodari. Conceptualised & choreographed in Dadheech Shaili by Dr. Puru Dadheech. Followed by Praantath by Arupa Lahiri. A Bharatanatyam dance presentation exploring the maritime history of Gujarat and Maharashtra and their ancient trade routes across the Arabian Sea to Rome, Persia and the Middle East. Bringing life to cultural connections between Varuna and Poseidon, and Lakshmi and Venus through Bharatanatyam, Dastangoi and live Carnatic music - woven in Gujarati, Charani, Persian, Urdu, Sanskrit, Bengali and Hindi, Praantath explores stories of maritime exchange, trade and cultural interaction.
