IHC Lok Sangeet Sammelan. Folk Instrumental Music performance - An evening of vibrant rhythms and soulful melodies of Eastern India featuring the Flute, resonant Dotara, earthy Dhol, expressive Khamak, rhythmic Madol and powerful Dhamsa. Rooted in the cultural traditions of West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha, these instruments come together to create a rich soundscape celebrating the spirit of the land and its people.
Followed by Seraikela Chhau dance from Seraikela Kharsawan district in Jharkhand, which uses small but intricately crafted masks, elements of martial arts and semi-classical dance style guided by the principles of the Natyashastra. Music plays an important role in Seraikela Chhau, shaping the rhythm, mood and emotional depth of the performance, and drawing the audience into its evocative storytelling. Exhibition on the musical heritage of Seraikela Kharsawan (Jharkhand) and Koraput (Odisha) in the foyer. Collab. banglanatak dot com.
