The Habitat Library & Resource Centre (HLRC) has re-opened in a limited manner from Monday, June 21, 2021.

The opening hours of HLRC will be as follows:

All seven days of the week: 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Closed holidays: Republic Day, Holi, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti and Diwali (and early closure at 4:00 p.m., on the days before Holi and Diwali, as in the past).

Safety measures with reference to sanitisation and social distancing norms will remain in place.

Masks must be worn at all times: while entering the Centre and in the HLRC. Since the available number of seats in the HLRC at present is restricted to 38, any member wishing to use HLRC may please call at 011-43662021/011-43662022 the previous day between 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., to register a request for visiting the HLRC, the next day.

Request for use, if available will be confirmed to the member on a first-come, first-served basis and the confirmation will be forwarded by an email to the member.

Members who have a confirmed registration by email will be accorded preference while visiting the HLRC.

Access to the washrooms on the HLRC floor will be available through the rear door of HLRC, from October 1, 2021 onwards. This access should only be used for the purposes of visiting the washrooms.

In response to requests from members who wish to bring lunch with them and have it when they use the HLRC, this facility is being offered on the HLRC Terrace from October 1, 2021 onwards. Members may kindly note that other outside food/drinks are strictly not allowed on the HLRC Terrace. Please see Guidelines for using the HLRC Terrace for lunch.

Members’ children up to the age of 25 years, may be allowed to use the HLRC as dependents, from November 15, 2021, purely for academic purposes. Given the limited seating in the HLRC in compliance with DDMA Orders, and the requirement that members be given precedence in use of the seating in the HLRC, dependents may avail of seating in the HLRC, only if it is available. Dependents are expected to adhere to all the norms and guidelines of the HLRC (posted in the HLRC and on the IHC website). Members will be responsible for the conduct of their dependents when they use the HLRC.

Please click here for the complete Revised Norms and Guidelines for the use of the HLRC.

Staff have been authorised to enforce the norms and guidelines strictly.

Best wishes and look forward to welcoming you in the HLRC!
