Online Calendar - We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing away of Pt. Rajan Mishra. "A jewel of the Benaras Gharana", he was one of the foremost exponents of khayal gayaki along with his brother Sajan Mishra. We were honoured to have Pandit Rajan ji perform at our IHC Morning Ragas. We mourn the loss and pray for peace for the departed soul.
Last week, we also received some news of cheer, which we want to share with all of you. Aruna Vasudev, a long-time pillar of support to us, since our First Habitat Film Festival, and the Chief Guest at the inauguration of the Habitat Film Festival, 2018, became the first recipient of the prestigious Satyajit Ray Memorial Award For Outstanding Contribution to Writing On Cinema, awarded by FIPRESCI.
We welcome Another Gaze, a small, but tenacious independent feminist film journal as our new collaborators. From this week on, we will be including their weekly/fortnightly film screening programme in our online calendar. On the occasion of Satyajit Ray's centenary, Jai Arjun Singh, invites all Ray fans to join him and his friends to fondly discuss the master filmmaker.
Our weekly updates of the Metropolitan Opera, New York, Films.Dance, and Rang Smaran continue.
