Written in 1915 and filmed in 1960 with Sunil Dutt and Nanda, this gentle tale is the story of love, loyalty and loss in the midst of World War I. It is the immortal tale of Lehna Singh, fighting in Belgian trenches; his determination to fulfil a vow he had given to a young girl he had left back in his village, in undivided Punjab.     DOC FILM - Jamna - The River Story (Docu/ 2023/ Hindi with English subs/ 39 mins) Dir. Ishani K Dutta. Prod. Ashish Dutta. The film reveals the dire state of Delhi's Yamuna River, once pristine and now on the brink of ecological collapse. A documentary crew tries to make sense of the situation by talking to Shyam, a boatman who relies on the river for his livelihood. Through expert interviews and vox-pop segments, the film unravels historical neglect and contemporary challenges, exposing authorities' indifference towards the Yamuna. A Carrot Films Production.
