Booking Procedure

AMPHITHEATRE: During the classical antiquity in Greece, the open-air venue Amphitheatre was used for entertainment, performances, and many other cultural activities. Working on similar lines, the India Habitat Centre’s Amphitheatre is used for cultural activities like music, theatre, talks, poetry reading, documentary screening, various language festivals, art competitions, and many other activities. The venue regularly promotes and encourages the activities, which have been pioneer in their own way.

(2) The proposal must include:

To book the Amphitheatre, please give us a proposal that includes a note on the event to be organized. In case you wish to stage a play, please submit the script for approval and mention the dates required. The Amphitheatre can accommodate approximately 200 people.

Please note:

Sound system can only be used 7.00pm onwards on weekdays.

NOC must be obtained to make it possible for any function to be held at the Amphitheatre.

Terms and Conditions for hosting an event

Immediately after booking the amphitheatre, the organizers are requested to get in touch with Mr. Saurabh Rai # 9891464592. for guidance on how to procure a no-objection certificate (NOC), to discuss technical and stage setup details of the event. The timings for the shows at the Amphitheatre are 7pm –9.30pm weekdays.

In case of adverse weather conditions such as rain, fog, ice, snow, and dust IHC does not facilitate or provide any alternate venue.

No nailing, digging, double side tapes and tying ropes or threads.

No liquor or tobacco sponsorship is allowed.

This venue is only for cultural programmes not for the Auditions or commercial activities.

Although the organizers can start setting up in the day, the actual event can be held only between 7pm- 9pm.

Ensure that no microphones are used before 7pm in weekdays.

Inform one week in advance for – electricity supply/security guard.

No generators will be allowed.

It is strictly prohibited to cover the Amphitheatre with canopy or masking.

The organizers will have to get a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the police station on their own in case they are planning to hold a concert or event

In case of a show related to performance art like Dance/ Music/ Film etc., you will need to procure: Requisite License from entertainment Department and other agencies. For details please check atleast 3 weeks prior to the event with Visual Arts Gallery Office.

Complete NOC’s and licenses from the required department should reach VAG Office two days prior to the show. In case the organizers fail to obtain the NOC’s and licenses the event will be cancelled.

Last minute requirements will not be entertained

How do we publicise the exhibitions held at the gallery?

The information about the forthcoming exhibitions at the gallery is displayed on the India Habitat Centre website: www.indiahabitat.org. The information is also published in our quarterly newsletter called ‘I’ which is sent to all the members of the IHC, and also published in IHC’s Annual Arts Journal.
